Owen City Council Approves Another Ordinance

-The Owen City Council approved another ordinance at their meeting last week.The council approved the recommendation of the Personnel Committee to instate an ordinance adding Chapter 6, Law Enforcement, to Title 2 of the City of Owen Ordinances creating an OW Police Commission. The council also approved Pam Jaffke, Ken Martine, and Bob Wilczek to be on the newly formed OW Police Commission representing the City of Owen. Finally, the council heard the CDC’s Report. The Director, Tim Swiggum, scheduled a Joint of Review Board for TIF’s 3 and 4 for June 28th. The Growin’ Owen project is going strong and they’re working on the Aug 18th Car Show and Street Dance, along with the Oct 20th Autumn fest.
Finally, he stated the House of Friends will be raising money by hosting the Fun Run, Goose Race, and possibly a Jazz night, Heartland wetland field work is done, rail design now needs to be adapted and VPLE insurance still an issue.
