Owen City Council Approves New Ordinances

-The Owen City Council approved a couple new ordinances at their meeting last week.The council approved an ordinance which creates a register for notifications regarding proposed or comprehensive plan changes. Along with that, the council approved an ordinance which excludes conditional use permits from the requirements of the Comprehensive Plan, but planning and zoning rules still apply. The council also tabled an issue at their meeting. After discussion regarding the pros and cons of owning a traffic counter verses paying a company to come in and do the count, the issue was tabled to research the idea more.
The council also rejected both bids for the 3rd Street demolition project as they both came in over budget. Finally, during the public opinion portion of the meeting, one resident voiced his concern in regard to the culvert behind his house and another voiced his concern over other matters.
