Monday, June 18th, 2018 -- 10:05 AM

-The Neillsville City Council reviewed the Report of Officer’s at their meeting last week.

Neillsville Police Chief Scott Klueckmann wasn’t present at the meeting to review it with the council, but they were provided a copy ahead of time. For the month of May, the department had 141 complaints, 64 service calls, 104 traffic citations, 93 traffic warnings, 9 crash investigations, 43 ordinance citations, 13 adult arrests, 1 case referred to the district attorney, 5 juvenile cases and 40 parking citations. The various categories were mostly split in half in regards to whether they were higher or lower compared to May of 2017. Some other notable activity for the month of May includes the department working with property owners in regards to junked and abandoned vehicles in the city, an uneventful graduation, and 17 dog owners cited for failure to license their animals.

Also, two residents in Neillsville were cited for violating the city’s vicious dog ordinance. Their dog had been banned from the city back in 2015 and they brought the dog back into Neillsville and lied to officers about it. The department also investigated an accident at the stoplights by Kwik Trip and an aggravated battery case involving a 24-year-old Neillsville man. The department also participated in a Reality Store at the High School, attended a “Respect for the Law” Program and more.
