Neillsville City Council Hears Public Works Report

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Public Works Report at their meeting on Tuesday.The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, mowing, watering flowers, trimming/pruning trees, maintain street lighting, filling pot holes, cleaning brush and compost, street sweeping and more. The department has also completed, for the most part, the tree removal grant project. The FEMA projects at 810 and 823 Grand Avenue have been completed and curb and gutter was installed. The department also assisted the Parks and Rec Department for the bandstand project in Schuster Park. Public Works Director Dave Flynn also mentioned that there are two properties that the Health Department is taking action on as they’ve gotten really bad. Also, Miller’s Hardware in Marshfield has donated $1,000 worth of small flags to place around the city for 4th of July.
The council also heard a couple committee reports. The heard a couple Heritage Days Committee reports from May 24th and 31st. They discussed pottery, Miss Neillsville, sponsorships, the mini rod event, the golf outing, help needed, movie night, kids games, volleyball, letters, the parade and posters. The council also heard a report from the Transit Committee regarding the county Transportation Meeting that was held on June 4th. Finally, the council approved a long list of liquor licenses and operator’s licenses.
