Granton Village Board Approves Resolutions
Friday, June 15th, 2018 -- 9:01 AM
-The Granton Village Board approved a couple resolutions at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, they began their meeting by appointing a new trustee. Then, they approved a resolution to adopt the Fixed Asset Capitalization Policy as written and they also approved to adopt the Public Depository Resolution as written. The board also approved a resolution accepting the 2018 updated Compliance Maintenance Report as written. The board also discussed parking billing. The board also discussed the County K Highway Project with an employee of the Clark County Highway Department. The department has received several complaints about drivers not yielding to traffic with the right away at the intersection of County Road K, Romadka Avenue and Granton Road.
A couple of ideas were discussed on how to correct the problem. Closing Granton Road would be the cheapest but may cause a greater risk of accidents by diverting east bound traffic past the C store. Redesigning the intersection with a four way stop was discussed. Brian looked into Accident Grants but there have been very few accidents at that location so the project would not qualify for any grant money. Without Grant money available, the Village would have to fund more than half of the project. Due to funding, this project will not be pursued this year.
