Greenwood School Board Discusses Civil Rights Compliance Audit Report

-The Greenwood School Board discussed the Civil Rights Compliance Audit reported at their meeting on Monday.The board was given an overview of the Civil Rights Compliance audit competed in late April. The district has some minor issues to correct and a plan is being developed to address the findings. This should be completed by July of 2019. Also, the 2017-18 budget transfers were reviewed and approved, an update on the development of the 2018-19 district budget was provided and the board was informed that there would be no increase in breakfast or lunch prices for 2018-19. The board also approved changes to Policy 5136 Personal Communication Devices and approved the Elementary and Middle and High School Student-Parent Handbooks for 2018-19.
The board was also presented an update on summer projects. The board approved the installation of a new fire alarm system in elementary school at a cost of $85,000 and approved a Design Service proposal to improve main entrance security at both schools at a cost of $9,500. Finally, the board approved access to the Fitness Center for non-residents. Non-residents will be charged double the resident fees for individual and/or family membership.
