Another Successful Spencerama Days

(WDLB) -After a 16-year hiatus, Spencerama Days has now gone back-to-back.The village of Spencer held its second straight Spencerama celebration over the weekend, after the tradition ended a long run in 2001. Organizer Deb Schafer said everything went very well, and was very well received.
Deb: "This is the most amazing, beyond, comprehensive weekend I could have ever imagined. Everything went well. It went smooth. We had lots of folks come out to Spencerama Days. We had a car show with 105 entries. Music was great. The parade was excellent with 42 entries. I could not be more pleased."
The parade was the main attraction on Sunday afternoon, and parade-goers enjoyed lots of sunshine for that event, which featured over forty entries. There were great crowds all weekend, and Schafer says it puts them and the other groups involved in great shape for next year.
"The way we work it is that our organization set up their own events and booths keep their profits. The beverage tent, AKA Beer Tent, is where the money goes to feed next year's Spencerama. It's our money that used for advertising and getting everything organized and ready to go."
Schafer says people are already asking for next year. Last year, the Marathon County village brought back the tradition that dates back to the mid-1960's, but before last year had not been done since 2001. The Spencer Jaycees held the inaugural Spencerama Days in 1965, advertised as a community celebration.
