Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 -- 7:22 AM
The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of some land for two county departments at their meeting on Wednesday. The board approved the purchase of 4.7 acres, currently owned by Greenwood Acres, LLC, near Loyal.
The Clark County Forestry and Parks Department and Highway Committees desire to purchase this property because it will allow them to vacate the west 3 acres of the current 5 acre highway department property located adjacent to the Clark County Fairgrounds. The west 3 acres will be transferred to the Clark County Fairgrounds to help them reach their goals outlined in the Clark County Fairgrounds Strategic Plan. This will also help them with a more centralized location in Loyal for their equipment as the land is adjacent to their shop in Loyal.
The board also approved some changes to their investment agreement. The board also approved the conveyance of land to the State Department of Transportation. This land, 1.02 acres, is located in the Town of Eaton at the intersection of Highway 73 and County Highway OO.
The board approved the renting of tower space to Selk Electronics on the county’s tower at Heintown Road in Loyal. The cost $120 per month, a lease term of 5 years with automatic renewals and Selk must install their equipment at their own cost in the spot the county designates.
Finally, the board approved a resolution that would allow them to have a County Attorney and Corporation Counsel. This is due to the resignation of Jake Brunette as Corporation Counsel to avoid a conflict with Lyndsey Brunette, his wife and newly elected Clark County Judge. Jake will stay on as an attorney for the county
