Black River Falls Fire Department Responds to Shed Fire

Wednesday, May 30th, 2018 -- 10:11 AM

-On Saturday, May 26, around 1:45pm, the Black River Falls Fire Department was paged out for a structure fire at N4846 Bible Road in the Town of Irving by the Jackson County Emergency Dispatch Center.

Upon arrival of the department a 50’ x 40’ pole shed was found to be fully engulfed. The structure and its contents are a total loss. Two vehicles parked next to the structure were damaged from the radiant heat. The siding of the nearby home and another out building was also damaged from the radiant heat. Mutual aid was requested and received for water tenders and manpower from the Melrose, Taylor and Hixton Fire Departments.

The departments were on scene for 2.5 hours and used 19,000 gallons of water to extinguish the fire. No firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time and an estimated fire loss is also unknown at this time. The property was insured.
