-Two Memorial Medical Center employees received a nice surprise Tuesday afternoon.Ken and Candy Marg were presented the 2018 Rural Health Ambassador Award from the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative. Jeremy Levin of the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative explained the Rural Health Ambassador Award.
"The Rural Health Ambassador Award is an award that we have for our member hospitals to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty for their communities, to strengthen the ties of their organization with their community to really be ambassadors for rural health care. In the case with the Margs, their work through EMS and some fundraising for the healthcare community. Also, recognizing their longevity for serving their community. Actually, this is the first time we've ever given the award for a husband and wife duo. So, that was fun! And, obviously, being able to surprise them and have their family involved was a good time too!"
Ryan Neville explained why he nominated Ken and Candy for this award.
"The Rural Wisconsin Health Coop Ambassador Award is something unique to rural healthcare. And as we look at what's behind being an ambassador for rural health, and you read the description, Ken and Candy are just staples in our community as far as providing care, not only in the hospital, but also outside the hospital and also in their volunteerism. They're really what the award is all about."
Ken and Candy said, “We are proud and honored to receive the award and we couldn’t do it without the help of our fellow EMTs. Thank you to Ryan Neville for nominating us for this great honor.”
