-A man arrested after a standoff situation in Black River Falls appeared in Jackson County Court on Monday.Back in November, a woman reported a domestic disturbance incident. Authorities made contact with the suspect, Denzel Sanders of Black River Falls, outside a residence on 3rd Street. Sanders fled inside the home and barricaded himself inside. Authorities had received reports that Sanders had access to multiple weapons inside the home. However, after four hours, authorities were able to convince Sanders to come out of the home and he surrendered peacefully.
During his hearing on Monday, Sanders was found guilty of, due to a no contest plea, failure to comply with an officer and a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Three other charges were dismissed and read in. He’s scheduled for a sentencing hearing on August 8th.
