Clark County Fairgrounds' Strategic Plan, Part 8

-Several Clark County departments recently completed a strategic plan for the Clark County Fairgrounds.The purpose of the plan is to provide a guide for future projects at the Clark County Fairgrounds. I spoke with Rick Dailey, the Forestry and Parks Department Administrator, and Melissa Kono, the CNRED Agent for Clark County, and Rick explained the Fundraising Committee that has been formed for future projects at the fairgrounds. Melissa talked about the importance of the strategic plan not sit on a shelf.
Rick: "So, we do have a 10 member, Clark County Fairgrounds Improvement Project Fundraising Committee that's been established. We did have a very good meeting. We are hoping to get other folks involved in the whole process. We're just starting out. The group is made up of a variety of stake holders scattered throughout the county."
Melissa: "And I think it's important too that the strategic plan is not something that just sits on a shelf. You can already see items that have materialized from it. That sign, the electronic sign is now up and looks beautiful. This community foundation fund has been established. There are projects that have been laid out by the Forestry and Fairgrounds Committees for potential building and improvements to buildings. This is really a plan in action as you look at the fairgrounds."
Coming up on Thursday, Melissa will talk about two specialists she worked with that helped plan the layout of the fairgrounds for the strategic plan.
