Granton Village Board Hears Clerk's Report

-The Granton Village Board heard the Village Clerk’s Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the clerk attended the Board of Review Training in Neillsville on April 16th. She also filed job notices for the Waste Water Position in the CC Press, the TRG, UW-Point, UW-Eau Claire, UW-Wood County and at Mid-State Tech. The filing deadline is May 11th. She also attended the DNR Recycling Grant Certification Training on April 11th and the Village has been working with an intern who has been helping in the office for the past 12 weeks. The internship is not paid, but the clerk requested the village pay $100 dollars to the intern for her assistance, which the board approved. The board also heard the Treasurer’s Report. The beginning balance in checking was $111,809.07 and ending balance is $119,376.67.
The beginning balance in the money market account was $443,473.28 and ending balance is $443,837.78. The library balance is $32,486.53. Finally, during the open forum portion of the meeting, Dean Schmidt announced and provided a written resignation for his position as Board Trustee. He plans on applying for the Water Works position. The clerk advised that the board needs to appoint a new board member and that if Schmidt is not hired as the Water Works Operator the board can re-appoint him after the hiring process is complete. The board will hold until the June board meeting to make a decision.
