Updates and News from Quarterly Workforce Meeting

-The Quarterly Workforce Meeting was held on Monday at the Job Center in Neillsville.Those in attendance heard updates on businesses, programs and more. Abbyland shared some exciting news in regards to their future. Abbyland will be building apartments to help house their workforce. The company plans on building a total of 5, 16 until buildings with 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. They will be breaking ground in June and hope to have the first building move in ready by November. Besides the building, the area will have soccer fields, basketball courts, ponds and other items. Abbyland is also sponsoring a soccer team to play in the Wausau league. They also heard updates on the WIOA Program, the Wisconsin DVR, items happening at the Neillsville and Owen School Districts and CVTC updates.
They also heard about the “NewStart” program, which will help inmates released from prison. They also heard an update on the “House of Mercy” Homeless Shelter for women and children. Some other updates included the FEST Program, the Clark County Young Professionals, the Clark County Economic Development and Tourism Corporation, Job Core, veteran’s updates, the Clark County Health Department and Youth Apprenticeships.
