Granton Village Board Hears Water Report
Tuesday, May 15th, 2018 -- 8:01 AM
-The Granton Village Board heard the Water Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, a resident has been given several notifications over the years that he must provide water samples of his well water to ensure the water sample is clear from contaminants that may filter into the Village’s water supply. He has ignored all requests. The Village has 60 days to respond to the DNR with the required information. The resident will be notified and fines will be issued if samples are not provided. They also heard the Waste Water Operator Report. Ferric was added to the waste water pond to reduce the Phosphorus levels and we are now discharging. An employee completed the VOC water exam and will attend the excavation training on May 23rd. The shelter at the pond is almost complete. Metal roofing should be in next week and the project will be complete.
Also, the Winkler family donated two Black Cherry trees in memory of their daughter/sister that have been planted by the shelter. Spring cleanup continues and includes filling pot holes with black top, setting up the park with garbage cans and picnic tables and remove the aerator. Vehicle maintenance included rear brakes on the dump truck and new seals in the steering ram of the backhoe.
