-The Granton Village Board discussed the police computer and phone at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the village constable advised that the police computer should not be accessed by the new water works employee due to the confidential and sensitive information stored on the computer and he suggested the board purchase a new computer for the Water Works position. The board agreed. The constable, who’s retiring, also stated that he would like to keep his phone and agreed to pay the village the fee from Verizon. The board advised this was acceptable; however, the phone number belongs to the village. The board also advised that any data overages would not be covered by the village. All parties agreed.
Also, June Dairy Days will be at Troy Kuehns place this year and the FFA Alumni needs 5000 gallons of water, which is about $25. Since the fire department is donating the use of the truck to hall the water, a board member was wondering if the village could donate the water. The board approved the donation. Finally, it was stated the board must adopt a Capitalization Policy. The auditors provided a sample for the board to work with. The board reviewed and will work on this over the summer.
