Granton Village Board Approves Several Items

-The Granton Village Board approved the purchase of village shirts for future events at their meeting on Wednesday.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board approved the purchase of Polo Shirts for meetings. This will give a professional look and offer free advertising for Granton. The cost per shirt is 6.95 and the color choice is navy. Also, the village uses a rowboat of a village employee at the Water Treatment Plant. But with the retirement of the employee, they’ll need a new one. The employee offered to sell his rowboat to the village for $250. The board approved purchasing the rowboat.
The board has also met with WHEDA and WI Rural Development to begin initial research into possible grants for Village improvements. Finally, a waste water employee earned two more certifications and requested a pay increase. The board discussed and agreed that the employee’s commitment to increasing his job knowledge was worth a pay increase. The board approved increasing his wages from 16.50 to 17.50 per hour effective the next pay period.
