Greenwood School Board Changes 2019 Graduation Date Again

-The Greenwood School Board approved moving their 2019 graduation date again at their meeting on Tuesday.Greenwood’s 2019 graduation was originally going to be held on June 1st, but due to a conflict with the State Track Meet, they moved it to June 2nd, a Sunday. However, after hearing from parents on the matter, they approved moving the date to Saturday, May 25th of 2019 at 11am. The board also approved the open enrollment applications for 2018-19, they heard the district received an 8.5% health insurance premium increase and heard an update on the development of the 2018-19 district budget. They also had the second reading of the NEOLA Policy Update 27-1 with the update approved. The board also heard a staffing update and the teacher contracts were issued on May 2nd.
The board approved a 2% salary increase for professional staff, $0.30/hour increase for support staff with less than 7 years of service, and $0.60/hour for support staff with 7+ years of service. Finally, the board was presented with the initial list of possible summer projects and the district has received a couple of requests from non-residents regarding being a Fitness Center member. The board decided they wanted more information presented at the June meeting.
