Clark County Fairgrounds' Strategic Plan, Part 5

-Several Clark County departments recently completed a strategic plan for the Clark County Fairgrounds.The purpose of the plan is to provide a guide for future projects at the Clark County Fairgrounds. I spoke with Rick Dailey, the Forestry and Parks Department Administrator, and Melissa Kono, the CNRED Agent for Clark County, and Rick explained some of the things they’d like to accomplish in moving forward with this plan.
"We are looking at acquiring some adjacent highway property for fairgrounds use. That will be a big deal if that comes through. That will allow us to potentially build one of the new buildings in that location and spread the facilities out a little bit. And will make the whole planning process much easier. We won't need to remove certain existing buildings to make room for a new building. So, the logistics of the whole project will be much easier. It's one of the items we didn't look at when we were doing the strategic plan, but, again, it will really help the entire project."
Coming up on Monday, Rick will talk about various funding sources for future projects at the fairgrounds.
