Eau Claire Man Sentenced in Trempealeau County Court for High Speed Chase

Friday, May 11th, 2018 -- 9:51 AM

-An Eau Claire man arrested in Osseo after a high speed chase was sentenced in Trempealeau County Court on Thursday.

At the end of March, the Independence Police Department was dispatched regarding a theft that had occurred within the City of Independence involving a red Chevrolet pickup truck that was pulling a trailer and covered in mud. That vehicle was observed by the officer driving northbound in the city. The officer attempted to make contact with the driver, identified as Graham Timme of Eau Claire, with a traffic stop on State Highway 93, but the driver did not comply and soon accelerated turning the incident into a pursuit. Speeds reached over 100 mph at various times. Spike strips were successfully deployed south of the Village of Eleva, but Timme continued to flee on damaged wheels on township roads and through the Village of Strum, US Highway 10 and eventually to the City of Osseo.

The incident came to a conclusion after Timme crashed his truck after striking an Eau Claire County Sheriff’s squad car near the intersection of US Hwy 10 and County Rd R. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. Timme was found guilty of 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety and vehicle operator fleeing an officer. A third charge was dismissed and read in. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail and four years’ probation. He’ll be back in court in June for a restitution hearing.
