Report of Officers at Neillsville City Council Meeting

-The Neillsville City Council heard the Report of Officers at their meeting on Tuesday.

For the month of April, the Neillsville Police Department had 133 complaints, 58 service calls, 50 traffic citations, 62 traffic warnings, 4 crash investigations, 13 ordinance citations, 12 adult arrests, 5 cases referred to the district attorney, 5 juvenile cases and 57 parking citations. Most of the numbers for April 2018 were up compared to April of 2017 with a few exceptions. Some other notable activity from April included a road rage incident where a Wisconsin Rapids driver was charged for pointing a firearm at a woman. Neillsville residents were sent a letter reminding them to license their dogs. An officer is also investigating an embezzlement case, the department provided security at prom and the police chief will be banning a dog from the city after biting someone for a 3rd time.

The chief and his officers also attended various conferences, trainings and toured various state facilities. The chief has also been discussing school safety with the Neillsville School District’s administrator and school board. Finally, it was mentioned that of the 9 impaired drivers removed from city roadways, 5 involved drugs and 4 involved alcohol.
