Dry, Windy Conditions Causing High Fire Danger Again
Tuesday, May 8th, 2018 -- 10:13 AM
-The dry and windy conditions from the past couple days have increased the fire danger, once again, in most Wisconsin counties. With temperatures in the upper 70’s and windy conditions again today, the Wisconsin DNR has issued very high fire danger for most of Wisconsin, including here in Clark County. Our neighboring counties of Chippewa, Eau Claire, Jackson, Wood, Marathon and Taylor are all under very high fire danger as well. All of Northern and Central Wisconsin are under very high fire danger with high and moderate fire danger in Wisconsin’s southern counties.
The DNR asks that you not use campfires or burn debris. They also ask that you be extremely cautious with anything that can create a spark. Clark County recently saw two wildfires that burned over 120 acres of land.
