Local FFA Students to be Honored at State Convention

(Wisconsin Ag Connection) -Some of the top FFA members in Wisconsin will be honored this summer in Madison during the organization's state convention.The Department of Public Instruction and the Wisconsin FFA Center has announced its candidates for the 'Stars Over Wisconsin' awards--which include finalists for the Star Farmer Award, Star in Ag Placement, Star in Agribusiness and Star in Agriscience. Some local students in the running for different titles include Jillian Tyler of the Granton FFA for Star Farmer and Mason Gukenberger of the Marshfield FFA for the Star in Ag Placement.
Each of the candidates will receive a plaque, with the top winners of each award also earning cash prizes. The finalists were selected according to the amount of money earned in their Supervised Agricultural Experience Program. The Wisconsin FFA Convention will be held at the Alliant Energy Center on June 11-14.
