Owen City Council Discusses City Newspaper

-The Owen City Council discussed the city newspaper at their meeting last week.The council moved to table the approval of the Official City Paper until clarification of certain requirements could be obtained from the League. They also approved moving forward with the Quiet Zone. A traffic count and an agreement with the county are the next items to be obtained. The council also approved Mayor Milliren’s appointment of Mike Renderman to the Ordinance Committee.
Finally, the council approved updating the city’s Comprehensive Plan providing they are awarded the state grant for half of the $25,000 cost. This update should be done about every ten years. The needed address changes can also be incorporated into the plan at this time.
