Wildfire Danger Still High Around the State

-With Clark County’s wildfires on Sunday, the Wisconsin DNR wants to remind residents of the fire danger around the state.Warm, dry and windy weather has created prime conditions for wildfires all across Wisconsin. Clark County is currently under extreme fire danger as is Jackson County. Taylor, Chippewa, Eau Claire and Wood County are under very high fire danger. Marathon County is under high fire danger. Most of the state is either under very high or high fire danger and several south-western and south-central counties are also under extreme fire danger.
The DNR wants to remind residents that under extreme fire danger, burning is prohibited, even if you have a permit. They also urge you to be extremely cautious if you’re going to be using a campfire, outdoor grills or even if you smoke. The state has seen a rash of wildfires around the state over the past few days.
