Owen City Council Approves Farm Land Rental

-The Owen City Council approved the farm land rental at their meeting last week.The council approved the rental land being reduced to $120 per acre for this year only as requested by Dennis Martin. Next year the rent would revert to the original contract amount of $165 per acre. The council also approved a few parks and recreation items including the expenditure of up to $5,000 from the reserve fund by the Parks & Rec Department for playground equipment at Crowley Park, moving forward with the dog park to be put in at Crowley Park and approved Resolution #2018-1 allowing the city to apply for the Trail Grant.
Finally, the council approved moving forward with Withee to form a joint Police Department.
