Wildfires in Clark County on Sunday

-Clark County saw several wildfires on Sunday due to the extreme dry condition including at the Bruce Mound Ski Hill.Nearly 20 acres of forested land were affected by the fire and there were several structures in danger of catching fire as well. People living on Highway 95 near Bruce Mound were ordered to evacuate, but were able to return home late Sunday night. The fire occurred in the early afternoon Sunday and the DNR and several fire departments responded to the blaze. There were reports of some people being treated for smoke inhalation as well. The cause of the fire isn’t known at this time.
There was also a wildfire near Hewitt in Clark County, this one burning 34 acres. The fire occured around Bruce Mound Avenue and Sand Road. The Neillsville Fire Department was on scene for 6 hours. They received mutual aid from the Fairchild Fire Department and the Wisconsin DNR. There were no injuries and they believe the fire may have been accidentally started by some people camping in the area.
