Granton Village Board Hears Presentation from First Responders

-The Granton Village Board heard a presentation from the first responders at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, Pat Wolf and Janell Walters presented the 2017 review of the responders. The village continues to have the lowest call volume. In 2017 the village had 5 calls responded to. York and Lynn were the highest at 22 and 20 respectively. The $1500 dollar contribution was discussed and it was decided to continue to donate the same amount. The 1st Responders also brought the ambulance to the meeting and gave us a chance to see the inside. The board also heard the Waste Water Report. Sampling for spring discharge has begun and Hawkins is scheduled to put Ferric in pond 3. Spring cleaning has begun and includes culvert cleanup, cutting down trees on the road sides, prep for stump grinding and more. Equipment repair was completed on the dump truck, the spreader was repaired and painted, auger was sandblasted and mapping the village water ways continues.
Finally, the board heard the Village Clerkâs Report. The clerk attended the DNR Grant Certification Training on April 11th. The election was completed and Russell Kuehn was elected as trustee for the 2 year term. The oath of office was completed and signed. The audit, the compilation and the c report were reviewed. Each of the auditors comments were read aloud and discussed.
