Stanley Woman Sentenced for Embezzlement

A Stanley woman sentenced for embezzlement in Chippewa County Court on Thursday.

According to court records, Karen Towberman is accused of embezzling $35,000 from the promotional business Dean & Associates.  Towberman stole the money over a 3-year period.  Towberman, as the office manager, had access to the company’s finances.

Back in March, Towberman pleaded guilty to two counts of theft of a business setting.  She was sentenced to 5 years of probation with a condition of 7 months jail time.
