Marshfield's New Mayor Takes Office

(WDLB) -Marshfield's new Mayor officially took the office last night. Bob McManus was sworn in during last night's annual spring organizational meeting of the Common Council.McManus was sworn in alongside the newest member of the Common Council. Steve MacSwain replaces Ed Wagner in District Five. Mike Feirer, Chris Jockheck, Jason Zaleski and Tom Buttke were also sworn in to new terms last night as well. And Jockheck was elected by his peers as Council President. He'll preside over the meetings in the Mayor's absence. Outgoing Mayor Chris Meyer received a standing ovation as he turned over the gavel to McManus, after five two-year terms in office.
Once he took over, Mayor McManus read the names of his appointments to various committees, boards and commissions. The new Mayor also made a number of citizen appointments, and those will be voted on by the Council next week.
