-An Eau Claire man arrested in Osseo after a high speed chase appeared in Trempealeau County Court on Wednesday. At the end of March, the Independence Police Department was dispatched regarding a theft that had occurred within the City of Independence involving a red Chevrolet pickup truck that was pulling a trailer and covered in mud. That vehicle was observed by the officer driving northbound in the city. The officer attempted to make contact with the driver, identified as Graham Timme of Eau Claire, with a traffic stop on State Highway 93, but the driver did not comply and soon accelerated turning the incident into a pursuit. Speeds reached over 100 mph at various times. Spike strips were successfully deployed south of the Village of Eleva, but Timme continued to flee on damaged wheels on township roads and through the Village of Strum, US Highway 10 and eventually to the City of Osseo.
The incident came to a conclusion after Timme crashed his truck after striking an Eau Claire County Sheriff’s squad car near the intersection of US Hwy 10 and County Rd R. There were no injuries as a result of this incident. Timme has been charged with 2nd degree recklessly endangering safety, vehicle operator fleeing an officer and theft of movable property. During his court appearance, he waived his preliminary hearing, so probable cause was found, allowing his court proceedings to continue. He entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him and he’ll be back in court at the end of the month.
