-2018 is the Year of the Young Professional in Wisconsin as the state seeks to establish a Young Professionals group in all 72 of its counties.Clark County, never one to be left behind and always looking for a new challenge, decided to form a county wide young professionals group in January. And so, under the guidance of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau, the Clark County Young Professionals was established. Sheila Nyberg, Executive Director of the CCEDC, got the ball rolling for the group.
“Clark County Economic Development Corporation & Tourism Bureau saw a growing population of young professionals returning to our county as alumni, some taking over as next generation in their family business and the many new young folks that are gravitating to our county for careers,” said Nyberg. “As we saw business leaders retiring and young folks taking their place we recognized the importance of gathering our young people together to help us focus on their future here in Clark”
The group held a few different formation meetings to lay out what they hope to accomplish and try and attract new members to the group. The Clark County Young Professionals walked away from those meetings with one question on their mind for the rest of Clark County and its residents, “What can we do for you?”
“Our hope is to be a resource for the young people of Clark County,” said Riley Hebert, a founding member of the group. “We hope to connect them to various resources in the county.”
Clark County Young Professionals not only hopes to be a resource for county young professionals, but also a way for them to network and have fun. Currently, they have a wide variety of activities planned over the next few months.
• Thursday, April 19th, a fun event: Touring Central Wisconsin Broadcasting in Neillsville at 6pm, supper at Fannie’s Supper Club at 7pm.
• Saturday, April 20th, YP Week in Green Bay!
• Monday, April 30th, Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau’s Annual Meeting at the Loyal American Legion. Contact the CCEDC for more information.

The Clark County Young Professionals have events planned all the way throughout the summer and into the fall. The group is also looking for community involvement as well. If you have an event and you’re looking for volunteers or speakers, please contact the Clark County Young Professionals.
“We really hope to make an impact with the Clark County Young Professionals,” said Hebert. “We hope alumni moving back to the county or professionals relocating here will connect with our group. We can be a valuable tool for them. People have a tendency to underestimate Clark County and they shouldn’t. We have so much to offer!”
