Wisconsin Dells Man Sentenced for High Speed Chase in Jackson County

-A Wisconsin Dells man arrested after a high speed chase in Jackson County was sentenced for the incident on Monday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, back in June of last year, a deputy tried to pull a vehicle over on N. 5th Street in Black River Falls for a minor traffic violation. However, when he activated his lights, the vehicle sped away. The pursuit continued onto I-94 and reached speeds of 110 mph. The driver lost control of the vehicle and a crash occurred. Both occupants jumped out of the vehicle and a foot pursuit began. They were apprehended a short while later. Dakota Funmaker, the driver, was arrested obstructing an officer and felony fleeing and Jordan Funmaker, the passenger, was arrested for obstructing an officer.
During his court appearance, Dakota was found guilty, due to a no contest plea, of resisting/failing to stop and resisting/obstructing an officer. He was sentenced to 6 months in jail and owes the courts $586. Jordan Funmaker entered a plea and was sentenced back in December.
