Menomonie Man Arrested for OWI Near Black River Falls

-A Menomonie man was arrested after an accident near Black River Falls Sunday night.According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, on Sunday around 10:45pm, troopers from Northwest Region, Eau Claire Post arrested 29-year-old Jared Knutson for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence, 4th offense. Knutson was traveling west bound on I-94 near Millston, when he rear ended another vehicle. The lead vehicle collided with several trees and came to a stop in the median. Knutson’s vehicle entered the ditch and started on fire. No injuries were reported as a result of this crash.
Knutson fled the crash scene on foot, but was taken into custody a short distance from the crash scene without incident. Knutson is being charged with OWI 4th Offense, Operating a Motor Vehicle while Revoked, leaving the scene of a crash and bail jumping. Knutson was booked into the Jackson Co Jail pending an initial appearance.
