Clark County Board of Supervisors Approve Land Trade
Friday, March 23rd, 2018 -- 10:18 AM
-The Clark County Board of Supervisors approved a land trade proposal at their meeting on Tuesday. The board approved a land trade proposal from a private land owner in the Town of Mentor. The owner proposed trading just over 47 acres of land in exchange for just over 17 acres of county forest land. The Clark County Forestry and Parks Department felt this was beneficial because in would increase the county forest acreage by just under 30 acres. There was no cost except for staff time to fill out the necessary paperwork to include the land in the County Forest Crop Law.
There was one resolution that was not approved by the board and sent back to committee. The ordinance would have had the county convey property located in the Town of Mentor at the intersection of US Highways 10 and 12 to the State of Wisconsin as they are in the process of disposing various surplus right of way parcels.
