Neillsville School Board Discusses Bids on Summer Work
Wednesday, March 21st, 2018 -- 7:15 AM
-The Neillsville School Board discussed some bids for work they’d like done at the district this summer.First, the board heard two bids for painting that will be done in some of the district hallways this summer. The bids were from Pine Valley Painters and Cliff’s Painting. They had a bid of $5,800 and $9,450 respectively. However, no action was taken by the board on this item because there was confusion in regards to the stark difference between the two bids. Whenever the district does a project, they always buy the supplies themselves because they save money in regards to the sales tax. With the two bids, there was confusion on whether the paint and other supplies, which the district would buy, was included in both bids. The board decided to hold off on a decision until it can be clarified by the two companies.
The board also received two bids for tile work that will be done in specific hallways this summer as well. The district received a bid from Russell’s of Neillsville and Kuhn’s Flooring and Decorating. They received a bid of $54,470 and $54,631 respectively. The board chose the slightly lower bid from Russell’s of Neillsville.
