Tuesday, March 20th, 2018 -- 11:14 AM
-The Neillsville School Board approved two foreign exchange students at their meeting yesterday afternoon. The board approved an exchange student from Norway and another from Denmark. They will be here during the next school year and living with the same host family. The board also approved the Boys’ Hockey Co-op for another year. Neillsville currently has three students apart of the co-op. There was also discussion on the cost to the district. The co-op includes the school districts of Black River Falls, Alma Center-Lincoln, Melrose-Mindoro and Neillsville. At the end of the year, Black River Falls, the contact school, charges the districts for being a part of the co-op once they figure out the cost, which includes items like supplies, equipment, ice time, participation and more.
So, Neillsville doesn’t know the cost until after they’ve approved the renewal and the cost has been much higher for the district than all of their other sports. The board did approve the renewal, but asked if they could get the cost beforehand for future renewals. The board also approved a Use of Space Agreement with the Personal Development Center, Inc.
