-The Granton Village Board heard the Waste Water Report at their meeting last week.According to the unofficial minutes form the meeting, a winch was installed in the lift station to allow them to lift the catch basket without hand cranking it. The basket can now be lifted up in under a minute instead of hand cranking it for 30 minutes plus. Also, sampling for spring discharge has begun. Spring cleanup in the shop was started and scrap iron was taken to the junk yard. 16 meters should be tested each year. This will help identify water loss. The board also reviewed the police report and it was noted was that all fire extinguishers were inspected. The board also heard the Clerk’s Report. The 2018 audit is completed, the April election will be Tuesday April 3rd and all election workers are in place. Also, Xcel energy advised that they do not have a renter listed for the apartment and that the bill has gone unpaid since July 2017. A request to receive copies of the billing was made and will be provided at the next board meeting. The board advised the renter that heat was included as it was thought that the heat was on one meter. This is not correct and the board will need to change the rental contract at renewal.
Also, it was noted that contaminated village property was identified by Ayers Associates who has been hired by the DNR. Finally, the board heard the Treasurer’s Report.
