-The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce held their Annual Dinner Meeting on Sunday afternoon at Parkway Pines in Greenwood. The Citizen of the Year Award was presented to Vicki Sterland for her 26 years of dedication to the Greenwood community. She has volunteered for many things including the dairy breakfast and more. It was stated that Sterland is always willing to lend a hand. The featured business was Branstiter Museum. The formation of the museum began back in 1982 by Donny Branstiter who collected all manner of antiques and especially enjoyed historical items about Greenwood. The museum officially opened in 1991 after the Dairy Days Parade and, after Donny’s passing, the museum was dedicated to him and given to the City of Greenwood after the Dairy Days Parade in 1996. Today, the museum is open the first Sunday of June-September and they also do tours by appointments and other fun events like wine and cheese tasting.
The Chamber also recognized some new businesses including 125 Main Street, K&S Logistics, East Fit Chiropractic and Footprints Midwifery and Family Clinic. Steve and Candy Turnquist were also presented an award for hosting the dairy breakfast last June. They also heard from several speakers including Kathryn Volovsek, Miss Greenwood; Kelly Nielsen, an FBLA member; and Sheila Nyberg, the Executive Director of the Clark County Economic Development Corporation and Tourism Bureau.
