Merrillan Man Enters Plea for Possession Charges

-A Merrillan man was arrested after drugs were found in his vehicle appeared in Jackson County Court on Tuesday.According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department, in November of last year, they received a report of suspicious activity in the Village of Hixton. When deputies responded, they made contact with Nickolas Peterson. AK9 unit located two ounces of suspected marijuana and more than five grams of suspected methamphetamine. The deputies also said the items were individually packaged and kept with other paraphernalia consistent with drug sales.
Peterson is facing several possession charges. During his court appearance on Tuesday, Peterson waived his preliminary hearing and he entered a not guilty plea to the charges against him.
