Neillsville City Council Hears Several Reports

-The Neillsville City Council heard several reports at their meeting on Tuesday.They heard the Public Works Report. The usual amount of work was done in the city including cemetery and parks maintenance, equipment maintenance, trimming and pruning trees, maintaining street lighting, filling pot holes, cleaning up brush and compost, tree removal, snow and ice removal and more. The department also had to deal with a recent water main break on Division Street. They’re also having issues with iron removal and backwash controls at the booster plant and they had to replace a furnace at the sewer plant. They heard the Beautification Committee report from February 22nd. They approved a bid for flowers and hanging baskets. They also found out from Xcel Energy that the city is not allowed to hang anything on a power pole owned by them that has power lines on it. This will prove to be a hindrance to the city in regards to yearly decorations.
The council also the joint Heritage Days and Parks and Recreation Committee report from February 15th. They discussed the bandstand project, bands for Heritage Days, sponsorships and Miss Neillsville. Finally, during the appearances portion of the meeting, the council heard from Lyndsey Boon Brunette in regards to her candidacy for Clark County Judge.
