Neillsville City Council Approves Demolition Bid

-The Neillsville City Council approved several demolition bids at their meeting yesterday evening.The bids were first approved during the Public Works portion of the meeting and then approved again during the regular Common Council meeting. The board received seven bids for the demolition of the home the city purchased at 1710 Black River Road on the north end of Neillsville as you come into town on Highway 73. The amount of the bids was wide ranging coming in at $7,000, $14,900, $17,000, $19,810, $21,000, $22,000 and $39,130. The council chose the lowest bid of $7,000 from Gates Excavating of Neillsville.
The council also approved the location of the new bandstand that’s being built in Schuster Park as a part of Joseph Anason’s Eagle Scout Project. The bandstand will be by the white pavilion, facing the tennis courts. The council also approved $7,000 from the Park Outlay Fund to be use toward the project.
