Thorp School Board Approves Teacher Resignation

-A Thorp teacher has resigned after inappropriate communications with a student.Back in January, the Thorp School District and local authorities began looking into a report from a staff member about inappropriate communication between Math and Physics teacher Mark Wenta and a high school student. The district and authorities have not said what the communication was, but did say the student did not initiate the contact nor did they reply to the message.
The Thorp School Board approved his resignation at their meeting on Monday. They will be reporting Wenta to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction for immoral behavior as well.
