-A Marshfield man was arrested for causing a bomb scare in the city back in January.According to the Marshfield Police Department, on January 11th, they responded to a disturbance at 2002 N. Lincoln Ave caused by 42-year-old Jacob Boushack placing a suspicious device in the front yard of a woman he had been dating. The woman and her new boyfriend believed the device was an explosive, so they called the authorities. During the multi-hour response, many residents were displaced and streets were closed while Marathon County Bomb Squad responded and rendered the device safe and Marshfield Police Department collected the item as evidence. The device was some PVC tubing which had firework mortars packed inside and was pointed at the residence.
During the investigation it was learned that Boushack was jealous over a recent breakup with the woman and he had even threatened her earlier in the month. After an investigation, authorities arrested Boushack, who admitted he placed the device in the yard. He’s facing multiple charges.
