Community Development Director's Report at Owen City Council Meeting

-The Owen City Council heard the Community Development Director’s Report at their meeting last week.Tim Swiggum reported that Heartland is looking to a spring schedule for finishing the rail plan. The Owen-Withee Area Chamber of Commerce Business Expo will be held at the Old School on April 7th. Tim already has three businesses committed to the Job Fair being held in conjunction with the Expo. Also, after the Annual Businessmen’s gathering February 5th, the chamber has two new board members; Jenny Totzke and Linda Susa. Also, the landscape proposal was sent, but they’re waiting to hear back on the grant.
Finally, he mentioned that Farm Tech days will be held July 10-12 at Heiman-Sternweis Farms, just south of Marshfield. The Clark County Economic Development Corp will have a tent at this event in which Owen will have a table available for them to highlight the city.
