Memorial Medical Center's CEO on Rural Health, Part 3

Wednesday, February 21st, 2018 -- 8:52 AM

-President and CEO of Memorial Medical Center, Ryan Neville, spoke with Dr. Bill Auxier of Rural Health Leadership Radio on the importance of rural health.

Ryan talked about an award that MMC received.

"We're very proud. The Wisconsin Critical Access Hospital is part of a co-op, Rural Wisconsin Health Co-op. And we're a very closely knit group of hospitals, around 35 hospitals. And, collectively, we ranked out at the top of Critical Access Hospital Quality as a group. So, if you look across the country, Wisconsin is number one in quality when it comes to collectively critical access hospital performance. So, we're part of a group."

"There are more rural hospitals then there are urban. So, when we look at Wisconsin being ranked in healthcare quality in the nation, we're always one or two battling with Minnesota. But we feel like we play a huge part in that as the rural-to-rural wing of Wisconsin healthcare."

Coming up on Thursday, Ryan will talk about the facility’s transition to become an accountable care organization.
