Administrators' Reports at Owen-Withee School Board Meeting

-The Owen-Withee School Board heard the Administrators’ Reports at their meeting last week.Jr/Sr High School Dean of Students Julie Van Ark reminded the group on Parent/Teacher Conferences that were held yesterday and the Band and Choir students will participated in Solo and Ensembles on Saturday, February 17th at Granton. 10 students participated in forensics sub-district and 10 earned advanced honors to the district competition in Eau Claire on March 13th. FBLA participated in their regional competition on February 3rd at Athens. Four students, Martha Gonzalez, Ashley Amacher, Ana Capetillo and Harley LaRock will advance to state in LaCrosse in early April.
District Administrator Bob Houts updated the board on the progress of AB 690, a bill that addresses sparsity aid and increasing the low revenue limit. If the legislation is passed as presented, the district would get $48,000 more in sparsity aid and about $90,000 more in revenue limit authority. He also thanked all of the people who attended the meeting in support of the Ag/Tech program and Mr. Engel and he apologized to Mr. Engel for a callous remark he made during the January 8th visit from the fire and sheriff’s departments.
