Granton Village Board Hears Several Reports

-The Granton Village Board heard several reports at their meeting last week.

According to the unofficial minutes from the meeting, the board heard the Constable’s Report. The boy’s home was officially closed on Monday, January 22nd. There is no news as to what will be done with it at this point. Also, one alderman inquired if the evening patrolling he had requested during the last board meeting had been done; it had not. The board also heard the Clerk’s Report. Preparation for the 2018 audit continues. The auditors are scheduled to be in house March 6th and 7th. She also mentioned today’s primary and all election workers are in place. Property Tax collection is complete and the total of delinquent taxes is $21,350 and includes 18 parcels. Unpaid Personal Property totals $762.34 and includes 4 parcels. Finally, Xcel Energy is limiting what can go on poles, but the village has requested to be allowed to continue to display their Christmas lights and is waiting to hear if this is approved.

Finally, they heard the Treasurer’s Report. The beginning balance in checking was $213,167.79 and ending balance $158,497.52. The beginning balance in the money market account was $415,137.62 and ending balance is $520,796.66. The February settlement numbers are as follows: $27,902.86 to Clark County, $36,343.78 to Granton and $3,164.81 to Mid-State Tech. An update on the budget was also presented.
