UPDATE: Concern Remains For Ice Storm Monday and Tuesday

The National Weather Services has updated the forecast timeline for the winter storm.A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from Midnight tonight through 6 pm on Tuesday for Buffalo, Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties and areas to the west. A mix of freezing rain and snow will fall in the advisory area.
A Winter Weather Advisory has now been issued for Trempealeau, Jackson, Clark and Taylor Counties and areas to the east from 6 am to 6 pm on Monday. Freezing rain is possible on Monday causing icing with up to a tenth of an inch of ice possible. The greatest impact is to rural roads and untreated surfaces. A Winter Storm Watch will go into effect from 6 pm Monday through 6 pm on Tuesday for Trempealeau, Jackson, Clark and Taylor Counties and areas to the southeast. In the Winter Storm Watch area the main concern is for significant accumulation of ice up to one quarter of an inch due to freezing rain.
Extreme caution should be used by both pedestrians and motorists on Monday and Tuesday. Anyone with travel plans early this week should stay informed of the latest weather information.

Wintery weather will be on the minds of many in the coming days.
The National Weather Service says it will become breezy this afternoon with wind gusts as high as 30 miles per hour.
A more impactful winter storm is poised to hit the region on Monday and Tuesday. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Midnight tonight through 6 pm on Tuesday for Buffalo, Eau Claire and Chippewa Counties and areas to the west. A mix of freezing rain and snow will fall in the advisory area.
A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from 6 am Monday through 6 pm on Tuesday for Trempealeau, Jackson, Clark and Taylor Counties and areas to the east. In the Winter Storm Watch the main concern is for significant accumulation of ice due to freezing rain. This morning's forecast places the area of most concern south and east of a line from Charles City, IA to Medford, WI under the greatest risk of ice accumulations over one quarter of an inch.
