Owen-Withee School Board February 2018 Actions

The Owen-Withee School Board discussed employment matters at their meeting on Monday.The board approved the retirement of Joan Turnquist. Joan has submitted a letter of retirement effective at the end of the school year. The board unanimously approved her retirement and thanked her for her many years of service to the District. The board also approved the retirement of Barb Finkelson. Barb has submitted a letter of retirement effective at the end of the school year. The board unanimously approved her retirement and thanks her for her many years of service to the District. They also approved the hiring of Bailey Karaba as the Assistant Softball Coach.
Also, in the fall of 2017 the district entered into an affiliated membership in the RVA. This was designed to be a year to try out the programs and see if we wanted to continue. The RVA has been a good addition to UR programming and administration recommends that the district continues the membership. On a voice vote the board approved applying to the RVA for invested membership. The RVA Board will meet at the end of March to discuss and approve. The final step is that it will go to the Medford School Board for their approval.
